How do dental crowns work?
Sometimes referred to as a “cap,” a dental crown covers the entire visible portion of your tooth, restoring its original shape, size, and color, and protecting its remaining structure. When an implant is used to replace a missing tooth, a crown attaches to the abutment and takes the place of the entire missing tooth.
Crowns can be placed on your front teeth or molars, and are custom-crafted to match the rest of your teeth and smile.

Common questions about porcelain crowns
Is it painful to have a crown put on your tooth?
No. We offer local anesthesia and will make sure your mouth is fully numb before placing your crown. You may experience some mild soreness after treatment, but it should go away within a day or so.
What should you do about a broken crown?
We work with patients from around Miami who have lost or broken a crown. Visit us to get it fixed! We may be able to reattach the crown. If not, we’ll create a new crown to meet your needs.
How much does a dental crown really cost?
Dental crowns cost more than fillings. However, a dental crown is a stronger, longer-lasting, more permanent, and more esthetic solution. Ultimately, the cost of your dental crown will depend on the tooth that’s being treated and your specific health needs. We’ll lay out the cost of the procedure and any other financial considerations before we begin treatment.
How long will a dental crown last?
Dental crowns last on average 10-15 years.
