How do veneers work?

Diagnostic Wax-up

Your first visit involves making a digital scan of your teeth. We use this to create a diagnostic wax-up. This can be used to see how your teeth will look with veneers before any work is done!

Minimal Prep

Once the diagnostic wax-up is approved, we minimally prepare the teeth and obtain a digital scan. Many patients require no tooth preparation at all.

Bonding

Your third visit is when we’ll permanently bond the veneer to your tooth with special dental cement. The end result will feel and look beautiful and natural.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are veneers?

Veneers are durable, custom-made porcelain shells that attach to the front of your teeth. These shells cover up and eliminate imperfections in your teeth, giving your smile the preferred shape and color. Veneers are made from natural tooth-colored materials and allow your teeth to function normally.

    Are veneers permanent?

Yes. Our veneers are custom-made and permanently bonded to your teeth. With proper care, they can last 15+ years!

    Does getting veneers hurt?

We’re dedicated to ensuring your comfort with every treatment. You’ll be fully numb before treatment starts and we’ll help you understand how to maintain your comfort after the procedure is completed.

How do you take care of veneers?

The best way to keep your veneers looking flawless is to practice proper oral hygiene and keep up with your routine cleanings and exams. We also recommend always using a soft-bristle toothbrush and avoiding abrasive toothpaste.

How much tooth is removed for veneers?

At our office, we take a minimally invasive approach to veneers treatment. A minimal amount of tooth structure may need to be removed. Some patients don’t need any structure removed at all.
